18 Wheels of Steel: Pedal to the Metal
|Genres:||Racing / Driving Simulation|
|Release Date:||August 30, 2004|
As yet another value-priced truck driving game, Pedal to the Metal lets you do all of the stuff you normally expect from this type of sim. For people keeping track, there is definitely a huge amount of improvement over the previous installment, 18 Wheels of Steel Across America, including over 45 types of cargo and 35 different rigs to choose from. The map is certainly larger as well, extending down into Mexico and up into Canada along the US border.
The graphics have seen considerable improvement both inside (truck cabs) and out (the game world simply looks better). The sounds and truck functions seem to remain basically the same using the same commands as in 18WOSAA. Avoid the law and avoid damaging your goods… either one will reduce your money quickly. Drive through various weather conditions as well as night and day. Drive on highways, city streets, and dirt roads. Watch out for deer, construction, wrecks, and more… So much to do and you have to do it within the time frame, or you’ll lose money.
