Premier Manager 98 is a team data update of Premier Manager 97. All 92 teams from the nationwide leagues and international teams were updated for the 1997-98 season, keeping all the features from the previous title (online English league database, 3D match engine) untouched.

Although only the English league is available, it is still possible to play in pre-season friendlies or international competitions against most first division teams in Europe and South America or scout and sign their players.

There are two game modes: Manager and Pro-Manager. Manager allows the player to start in any team. Pro-Manager, on the other hand, requires the player to build his career from the Conference, promoting the club from the lower divisions or getting promoted himself to better ranked teams. It’s possible to tweak options such as the level of control (“trainer” leaves the player only in control of player tactics and squad selection, “accountant” is the exact opposite, giving the player control over transfers, contracts, staff, finance, board room options and ground expansions, but no limited control over the squad, “Manager” gives control in all but contract deals and “total” gives full executive control) or if players age and eventually retire, or play forever.

    Hello anyone reading this,

Recently downloaded this fantastic game. It works perfectly, apart from the fact I cant save a game. It says I dont have enough space on my hard drive (I do, 200gb or so) and to free up at least 3mb. Anyone know where it saves the game? Im using Windows 7, and im playing the .exe straight from the extracted folder.

    Many thanks

  2. Some old games can’t recognize large amounts of free space, so they think you have 0 free space instead of 200 gb. Maybe try to run in a virtual machine with win98

  3. Gamer says:

Hi guys, this download is PM97 not 98. is that right?

  4. Gamer says:

Hi all, is this download meant to be PM97 or 98? as the file is for 97

  5. Meant to be PM98. I made a mistake, and now I can’t find PM98 anywhere, so i’ll have to leave PM97. Sorry

Anyone got any success with playing the game on windows 10? I can open it just fine, but the colors go all crazy on me.. will I have to get VMware or some such program to make it work?

    Hi.

I have just created a new folder and called it SAVE under TACTICS.
Still the game won’t save my games.

    What is wrong here?

  9. Doogie says:

Hi folks! I too encountered the save game problem but I figured out a fix.
I’m playing PM98 and running it on windows 10 but I’m assuming the problem is the same for both 97 and 98. The problem is that the virtual drive for reading the ISO file has no memory so the game thinks there is no memory on your hard drive.

    1. Open ISO file.
    2. Copy all files and folders into a new folder on your desktop.
    3. Create a folder within the new folder called ‘TACTICS’.
    4. Mount the ISO file but run the game from the copied files in your new folder.
    5. Play the life out of this beautiful game.

    Hope this helped 🙂
