Goblins 3 is the third game of the Goblins (aka Gobliiins/Gobliins) series of adventure/puzzle games set in a cartoony universe. In the first Goblins game, three goblins were at the player’s disposal, each with their unique set of abilities used to solve various puzzles. In the second game, only two goblins – Fingus and Winkle, were available. In the third Goblins game, you first control Blount, who is protagonist here.
Although Blount is the primary character, you will also be able to use others as well. The first is Chump the Parrot, seen in the first area aboard the flying ship. Ooya the Sage and Fulbert the Boa Constrictor make cameo appearances later. Unlike Blount, most of these secondary characters cannot pick up objects, but they can work in the game in other ways (such as pulling or pushing objects). As in older games, you will be stuck in various screens and must use your characters to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles.
The same sense of humor which characterized the series can be found in this third game, and the graphics are noticeably improved from the older games. The puzzles too are fun to ponder over, although they not might be immediately obvious as to how to solve. And although it isn’t always a good idea to start a game trilogy with the third iteration, in this case you can go ahead, since Goblins 3 is quite easily the best game of the bunch and a lot of good fun.
